Micro needling is one of the oldest beauty rituals that has stood the test of time for good reason.
The first electrical micro needling device dates back to 1905 and was developed by a German dermatologist Dr Kromayer. He used rotating wheels to ablate the skin to treat acne scars, keratoses and hyperpigmentation.
Things really took off in the 90’s with 2 leading plastic surgeons, pioneering the technique to treat scarring, skin texture and colour. Over the past 2 decades the technique has continued to evolve with many different devices available incorporating new technologies.
So, what is micro needling? Micro needling is a skin rejuvenation technique that uses multiple tiny needles that create tiny micro injuries, this in turn stimulates the skin’s natural healing process resulting in increased cell turn over and formation of new and stronger collagen and elastin fibres.
Hence why it is also known as ‘collagen induction therapy’. It can be used to treat many skin issues such as fine lines and wrinkles, stretch marks and pigmentation, acne scarring, hair restoration etc.
At Skinplicity Skin Solutions I can offer clients the latest in micro needling devices,
Lynton's EPN pen is the only UK CE marked micro needling pen on the market to offer electroporation technology. Electroporation disrupts the cell membrane allowing greater penetration of serums therefore enhancing end results.
